How to Play The Freak Circus

You play a customizable café worker whose ordinary shift changes after meeting Pierrot, a silent circus performer being confronted in the street. Early decisions—whether to intervene, comfort him, offer a bandage, accept a ticket, or trust the people who appear at the café—begin steering the story toward Pierrot, Harlequin, or a dangerous neutral path. After the Circus of Horrors opens, explore its colored tents and food stalls, react to the show, and decide which invitations and promises to accept. Your goal is to survive the visit, uncover why Pierrot and Harlequin are competing for you, and reach each available outcome. This work-in-progress build currently has one bad ending and three open endings rather than complete final romance routes. Save before street, café, ticket, tent, food, and private-conversation choices so you can reload and compare branches without replaying the full opening.

Tips for The Freak Circus

• Save before deciding whether to intervene in the street encounter; that opening choice can place the story on a much more dangerous branch.
• Keep separate saves before accepting a ticket, choosing a colored tent, buying circus food, and answering private invitations.
• If you want Pierrot-focused scenes, help him, pay attention to his nonverbal reactions, and be consistent when making promises.
• Replay choices involving Harlequin instead of assuming they only change dialogue; his rivalry with Pierrot opens different scenes and outcomes.
• Use History to check earlier wording and character reactions when a later choice tests whether you trusted a warning or promise.
• There is currently one bad ending and three open endings; reaching an open ending is the end of the available build, not a missing final scene.
• The story uses sudden sound, screen shake, blood, kidnapping, drugging, and cannibalism references, so review the 18+ content warning before starting.
